Pascal Lopinat : prepared and amplified drumset
This project explores a way to imitate a complete « noise rock band » only using the acoustic drumkit (without any triggers or samples). Mixed with hand-made piezzo microphones and various strings as additional source, the drumset became a new instrument able to create notes, harmonies and drones. By the way, the use of effects like distortions, loopers or delays open a large range of possibilities to build beats and riffs. In the end, all those sounds are meticulously distributed in various guitar and bass amps that create a real impression of « live playing band ».

AbSTRAL compost :
AbSTRAL plays solo, an intense and sometimes weird rap mixed with spoken word and sound poetry. He propels his lyrics beyond the face of the world, throwing out rhymes throughout drifts and trends, beyond language rules and crooked bends. A lively and rhythmical approach that plays with the discrepancies and interactions of meaning and sound. He captivates the listener with his complex phrasing, juggling with different languages according to the circumstances and situations. His latest recordind Hazard Crumbs was produced by Pascal Lopinat and released on the label Burning Sound Records.
